Inauguration Day

No matter what party you're affiliated with (or if you're not with one), I think it's a universal feeling that Inauguration Day is pretty cool. Think about it, United States Presidents have been experiencing the same inauguration tradition since our country started, yet each Inauguration Day seems unique and different. Such an amazing tradition! Also, I love this picture of Jackie Kennedy, so I thought today was a very appropriate day to post it.

Top 10 Things for Spring

Love this dress! It has everything... stripes and a bright pop of color. I've had my eye on it for a while.

Hot pink. That's all I have to say about this. It's perfect.

Is it becoming obvious that I like stripes? They're classic and easy to wear. This dress definitely meets those qualifications for my Spring wardrobe.

Besides the fact that the color is adorable, this top is versatile. It could go with jeans, shorts, or a pencil skirt.

Oddly enough, I don't own a pair of good denim shorts, so these are at the top of my list... once all of the holiday weight disappears....

I live in flat sandals during the warm weather months. The colorful snake print on these is super fun!

Besides flat sandals, I'm not much of a shoe girl (I know, weird) but I have fallen in love with these. I only purchase wedges and heels in neutral colors that I know I will wear forever and these fit the bill.

I recently purchased this and am DYING to wear it!

This bag has gone straight to the top of my birthday wish list (which is in May but it's never to early to start planning, right?). Love the white, the perforated texture, the shoulder strap, and the size.

Again, I would like one of these for my birthday. I'm not sure which one yet, but I just know it would be perfect to run errands with or to carry on a night out.

Black Out

I think everyone would agree that black is so classic and timeless. It literally looks good on every person. I generally go for very colorful clothes, but lately I've been drawn to neutrals, especially black. I'm loving simple long sleeved black dresses with a big chunky necklace... an easy outfit that is guaranteed to look chic. Head to toe black is another way to try it. The pictures above show some good ways to wear all black. I love Olivia Palermo's black over-the-knee boots with the black cape sweater and what look like leggings (OP can do no wrong in my opinion). The best part is that this is an easy and cost-free look to try, because everyone is sure to already have some black pieces in their closet!

The Holiday Skirt

In honor of the holidays I thought I'd share some photos of holiday skirts that have been inspiring me lately. The thing I love about these pretty holiday skirts is that you can wear them with a basic white t-shirt for an amazing outfit. What a great idea for whatever your holiday plans are!

Hope everyone has very blessed and happy holidays!!

Trending: Chic Converse

I am unexpectedly adoring converse sneakers right now. I live in my Tory Burch gold Revas pretty much 24/7 and usually go for a classic ballet flat for my daytime shoes. However, I am beginning to see the possibilities for outfits with a pair of Converse. I love them with a big sweater, leggings, or even with a simple black dress and chunky scarf. I just bought a pair of my own and can't wait to wear them! Comfort mixed with style can't be beat. Here's where to get a pair of your own.

Inspired By

I am obsessed with this outfit. I've been obsessed with it since summer when floral denim became the new trend. Floral denim is hard because it can run the risk of looking a bit 80s (and not in a good way) if done the wrong way. But, this look is fantastic...I love the print with the simple gray top and nude pumps. Here's how to get the look:

Color of the Year 2013: Emerald Green

I was so happy to see Emerald Green as the Pantone Color of the Year for 2013. I love a bold pop of green in any outfit. I think the color itself represents renewal and growth for the new year, which is a great motivator for those resolutions! Below are two of my favorite ways to incorporate emerald green into your closet for 2013. What could be better than emerald sequins? And for those of you who want a more subtle hint of green, try an emerald statement necklace.
